For a lot of us, interviews can be quite nerve wracking. It’ll be worse if you come for an interview unprepared as you might lose your dream job.

Interviews vary from one to another but the following are some important points that will help you improve your success chance.

The first point is, prepare yourself with as much information about the company your going to get into, and the role that you are going for. You can try to go to the company’s website to learn about the company as well as their products and services they are offering. Try to find some information about your interviewer, and his/her role within the company.

The second point might sounds obvious, but sometime it is one of the biggest lame mistake one can make. Make sure you know exactly the place where you are going to attend the interview. Give yourself plenty of time to arrive as arriving late will not be a good first impression. By arriving earlier you’ll also have the opportunity to gather your thoughts and prepare yourself on the spot.

The third point, decide what you are going to wear the night before to avoid rushing around the day of your interview.

The fourth point, have a copy of your CV with you and ensure that you read it through so you are able to answer any questions related.

The fifth point, greet your interviewer with a smile and a strong handshake. Maintain a good eye contact at all times, with the interviewer you are responding to.

The sixth point, ask questions and show a real interest in the position and the company. Ask questions that indicate an interest in their line of work or products and your enthusiasm and interest in the role itself, rather than holiday entitlement, pensions etc.

The seventh point, it is always better to response in a positive way. Also, if you do not understand a question, don’t guess the answer - ask them to explain the question further. Although you may be nervous and want to give the impression you are knowledgeable, don’t talk too much. Give yourself at least 5-6 seconds to think about your answer before you reply.

The eight point, Have your own questions prepared in advance but try to ensure that you use them in the context of the interview and think about the information you have already been given by the interviewer already. This will help to show the interviewer that you are interested in the company and want to find out more about the role you are being interviewed for. You can try to ask about the training available within the role you are taking or what would the career development pathway you can expect over the upcoming years.

At the end of the interview, if the opportunity arises, ask them how they felt the interview went. Also, if you are interested in the position, it is important to tell them.

Finally, make sure you know what the follow up procedure is, and when you can expect to hear back from them. Always thank them for seeing you.

These are some ideas to help you on choosing your dream career, especially if you’re still trying to figure out how to do what you absolutely love – or even figure out what you love.

One that got your interest
So, if you want to find your dream career, you’ll have to go after what you want. Think about it, there are people making a living playing their favorite instrument, dressing up in makeup and “clowning around” or going the traditional route of joining the ranks of Corporate America – and you can do it too. The main way for you to accomplish this goal is to take note of the projects you absolutely love then explore ways to turn that love into a tangible career.

Know your Personality
By taking a personality tests, you can better determine, based on your interests, what careers would be best suited for you. Examples of the two tests you can take online are the Keirsey Temperament Sorter and Ansir Self-Perception tests.

Both of them are the most widely-used personality test in the world. The first would help you determine your organization, career, and personal development attributes. While the latter will help you identify your dominant strengths and innate potential so that you can quickly move toward what best suits your personality. Both of these tests work well to give you insight into aspects of your personality that you may not have been aware of. But most importantly, they help you correlate those personality traits with various career options, helping to make finding your dream career a little easier.

Try Temporary Work
By taking on a temporary work, you can test the waters of different careers without having to commit permanently to any.

Don’t be afraid to go after your dream job. You may find it to be the best decision you’ve ever made.

The UK unemployment numbers are in for August and it isn’t good. Another 164,000 people lost their jobs over the three month period before August. This rise is the largest increase seen in 17 years. This makes the number of unemployed people 1.79 million. That is a rate of 5.7% compared to the 5.2% from the quarter before. Another 31,800 sought Jobseeker’s Allowance in September according to the Office for National Statistics. This brings their total to 939,000 for September.

The evidence seems to indicate a general slowdown. More people are out of work and the total number of job vacancies is down. Average annual earnings growth is down to 3.4% for the lowest rate in 5 years. This also suggests that the rising inflation rates aren’t being accompanied by equivalent pay raises. To counter these trends, the government plans to issue £100m to provide additional training for unemployed workers.

The numbers are expected to only get worse as time goes on though. Some economists expect the number to hit 2 million before Christmas. Capital Economics even made a forecast that there would be 3 million out of work by Christmas in 2010. With such an increase it is going to prove a very busy time indeed for the job centre and all of it’s branches.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown has issued numerous statements promising that the government would do all it could to stop the growing unemployment numbers and reduce redundancies in the workplace. Jenny Willott, the Liberal Democrat in charge of Shadow Work and Pensions blames this current trend on prior mismanagement though.

“The effects of the banking crisis have filtered down to the real economy and are affecting people across the county.” She added that new government action must be taken immediately to aid the average worker now that the rescue plan for banking is secure.

The worst part may be that these figures don’t show the negative impact of the bank crashes. TUC general secretary, Brendan Barber, stated that tough times are ahead. Years of full employment will make the coming crisis particularly hard for many, with government aid desperately needed to prepare them to re-enter the job market as quickly as possible.

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development shares this sentiment. Recent surveys from the organisation suggest that things will only get worse. Their latest results indicate that redundancies are increasing while general recruitment in decreasing.
John Philpott, the institute’s chief economist, warns that, “We’ll see hundreds of thousands of jobs being lost, and unemployment is likely to rise, certainly above two million. The question is how much further than that.”

Often, people ask “can I file bankcruptcy?” when they are stuck with their credit debt and can’t pay their debt off.

We all know that by filing bankcruptcy, you will be relieved of your legal obligation. Still, it should only be a last resort as it would produce a long lasting catastrophic effects for your credit by either having Chapter 7 for at least 10 years or having Chapter 13 for at least seven years on your credit report. To make it worse, both can remain on your legal records for 20 years.

So, how to pay off debt aside from filing bankcruptcy?
Well, either to pay off your debt or to get out of credit card debt, both would have a similiar ways which are explained as follow:
Debt Settlement
Also known as Debt Negotiation. Using this way, you’ll negotiate with your creditors to reduce your debt by 40 to 60 percent, which would lower your monthly payments.

Credit & Financial Debt Counseling
Using this way, you’ll negotiate with your creditors to reduce your interest charges so that you can pay your debt off in a shorter time with lower payment.

Now, if you need to talk to someone about your debts, you can fill out a form at PayingPaul and they will refer you to a company that will help you get out of debt fast and affordably.

In this article we will start to discuss the symptoms, causes and effects of a stroke, and the impact this can have on Life Insurance Quote.

Stroke is 3rd most common cause of death in the UK affecting an estimated 150,000 people in the UK every year (that’s more than one person every five minutes!) (source: The Stroke Association).

Firstly, make no mistake, a stroke can have a devastating impact on not just the individual, but everyone, families, friends, even work colleagues.

In general terms, there are two main types of stroke, an “ischaemic” stroke, caused by a blockage in an artery and a “bleed” stroke which is caused by a burst blood vessel in the brain.

Although there are certain factors that can increase the likelihood of you suffering a stroke, it can just as easily happen to pretty much anyone.

Life Insurance quote companies have a responsibility to shareholders and/or their other policyholders, so be in doubt that people who have suffered a stroke can generally expect to pay higher premiums for any new life insurance policies so it pays to ensure life cover is reveiewed regularly.

Never, ever attempt to mislead potential insurers by failing to dislose or mislead them about any medical condition that you have had. This will only cause further distress for your spouses/partners or any other potential beneficiaries in the event of your death as insurers could refuse a claim on the grounds of non-disclosure of a material fact that may have affected their original underwriting decision.

This not to say that you are uninsurable if you have suffered a stroke. There are numerous factors that undewriters/actuaries will consider such as age, current health, length of time since you suffered the stroke, so don’t despair, it may still be possible to secure cover for you, albeit at an increased cost.

The leading money making majors might be different each year. Most of the time, majors that are harder to complete, usually will be more rewarding at the end.

I was curious about the major I’m taking now which is Computer Science, as people often say that it is quite a good rewarding major, so, I compiled a list of the somewhat popular college major -at least in my country- their initial salary -in United States- and the type of jobs that you’ll be able to get after finishing it.

1.)Engineering type of majors including Chemical Engineering ($59,531), Electrical Engineering ($60,592), Mechanical Engineering ($57,547), and civil engineering ($49,537). Usually, these majors are the hardest to complete with massive homework and projects and require a lot of mathematic skills which many other people don’t. The employment growth for the majority of engineering jobs is moving at a pace faster than most occupations. The jobs for these majors include: Designing constructions from bridges to skyscrapers, creating medical advancements and a lot more.

2.)Computer Science ($57,249)- With the endless development potential of computers and the cyberspace, computer science are very important as it will keep growing in the future. Because of that people who have skills in computer science are paid high. Jobs for this major include: Database manager, Systems analyst, Applications programmer, Computer programmer.

3.)Accounting ($53,932) - This major can be really boring as it contains a lot of numbers, and you won’t be able to bear it if you don’t like to see a lot of numbers in your paper. Still, it could be worth it for your post college opportunities. Accountants will always be in great demand because I think most people are lazy and they don’t have the knowledge to do their taxes. The growth of this job is average. Examples for the jobs are: Management accountants, Government accountants, Public accountants, Auditors

4.)Economics/Finance($80,930/$85,788)- With economics you will be able to analyze almost anything. It can be very interesting. However, you could get bored to death if you got a wrong professor. If you are interested in economics, the book “Freakonomics” would be suitable for you. Some of my friends in this major said that it is known to open people’s minds to economics. Growth of this job is very strong for finance and economics. Examples for the jobs include: Economists in government, business, academic fields.

More choices of majors that you can choose: Business Administration-$54,626, Psychology-$43,945, and Arts at approximately $44,810

The question how to increase the sales and the visibility of your company or corporation if there is a strong necessity, of course, has troubled many managers all across the world. There is no a unified solution and there is no a right formula how to act and what to do. But some practical pieces of advice can be easily formulated and the best will be: sales coaching and promotional products.

Products for promotion are not easy to define, in other words they can be of various kind and one will definitely face the challenges in picking out the best items that can be distributed free of charge at different tradeshows and exhibitions. But one thing is clear: all these items should possess the following options: they are to be cheap to produce, colorful and useful, of course. If your audience is drivers, then automotive gifts will be a nice trial.

Promotional keychains will be a perfect gift to those who work in a broad range of spheres and will be a good present to a colleague, for instance.

We have already been used to different client gifts like notebooks, custom pens, promo mugs, booklets and magazaines that are distributed absolutely free of charge at the trade shows or even in the street when you are looking for a parking place or just walking along the streets. Sometimes they are even of no use and may even irritate but in the majority of cases they can bring you in a good mood as practically everyone adores freebies.

At the same time promo items or custom gifts are made practically by every average company as well as, for instance, screen printed t-shirts for its workers and employees especially when the company has a close intact with the clients that are dropping in at the office every day. They are being presented in most cases with pens and lanyards, with trinkets, stickers and labels.

Even for bank workers there are many items to choose from. Bank promotional items are good for those who want their banks to be highly valued not just in their hoem country but oversees as well.

Today many businessmen pay special attention to training and retraining of their managers. And of course it is great to understand that there are special sales training programs targeted to improve sales of their company. In fact training sales is not an easy task because a sales coach must combine both theoretical and practical knowledge because theory is a key element to practice.

Sales training programs mostly consist of lectures and seminars which is very simple. During them you can share you ideas and practical knowledge in the sphere of sales improvement. The main feature of such seminars is that you can design different situations and thus discuss and analyze different ways out of problematic situations. In fact this knowledge can be further employed in your business thus minimizing all negative effects and problems that you can face. This is the main assentce of sales improvement

Are you a freelance writer or planning on becoming one? There are thousands of websites that will pop up when you search for freelance writing or publishing in search engines, but sad to say, almost ¾ of it are fibs and they just want to extort your money. However, Elance is surely a promising website to drop by if you wish to make a career out of freelance writing. They offer various kinds of jobs for freelance writers. So, how does this website work? If you are familiar with Ebay, then you will understand how it works in just a few seconds. Companies and people who need writers (for personal or business) will post their “projects” on Elance. Registered users can then “bid” for the lowest possible “amount” they can do with the said project. If the client likes your bid, then the project is yours.

Of course, job aggregators are indeed helpful in helping you find a job—but it is only up to you if you will land the job that the job aggregator picked for you. Nevertheless, if you get a call for an interview, oftentimes you get so excited and jittery you forget to ask details. Some company HRs are so cunning they wait for you to ask questions (to start communication). They sometimes just announce to you your interview date and schedule without even giving you the address and the requirements needed to be brought for the interview. Either they assume that you know it, or they wait for you to ask questions. Be alert when taking interview calls and jot down everything the person on the other line says.

If you’re looking for magazines, books, competitions, and online workshops, you are just a click away from finding what you need. If you want to sell your work, take a look into the writer’s market or choose shop if you want to buy instead. There are also helpful tips about getting published, writing better works, how to be more creative and other things you must know. You could also participate with other people in the community area. You could also visit blogs and take a look at the video/audio section and writer’s resources.

If you want to be a commissioning editor, you must have a degree even though it isn’t necessary for you to be an English graduate. You must have good verbal and written communication skills. Also, you must have experience in journalism, copywriting, editing, publishing or media sales. For some jobs, you must have an MA in publishing or specialize on a subject matter or language. If you want to impress your employer, show that you have the qualities of a good employee like creativity, enthusiasm, adaptability, ability to work well even when under pressure and discipline to meet deadlines. If you have all these and you present yourself well during the interview, you can expect to become the next commissioning editor on your chosen place of work.

Commissioning editors manage lists that are concerned with a specific area like a subject or a book. Their job includes planning and monitoring projects, identifying and talking with authors, production and marketing staff, supervising the editorial staff’s work; dealing with budget and strategy; issuing contracts, attending book fairs; making book lists, studying books and book lists; reading, evaluating and commissioning titles; researching on the market; contributing to sales; writing reports. They usually begin as junior editorial assistants and they may work for commercial or academic publishers. They may also do freelance work once they have gained adequate skills and experience.
